FOTORELACJA: Flow Festival 2017 [ENG]
In the second weekend of august there are many festivals that are worthwhile attending. With Aphex Twin, Goldfrapp, Lana del Rey, Nina Kraviz, The XX, London Grammar and Moderat on the program Flow Festival in Helsinki was definitely one of the festivals we wanted to visit.

Just outside of the center of the capital city of Finland the festival is located in an old industrial area, Suvilahti. On the festivalground the festival is held in some of the old buildings, 3 additional tents and a big mainstage in the center of the area. One of the biggest attractions of Flow is not the music but the wide range and choice in (ecological) food. For the thirsty festivalgoer there were many bars with the local beer Lapin Kulta, the infamous Finnish Long Drink but also many places where water was available for free.
Our musical journey started on friday with the electronic dance music from Finnish band Femmes en Fourure (women in fur). Soon after the notorious Aphex Twin was able to attract so much audience a significant part of the crowd had to enjoy the band from a distance. Later that night Lana del Rey enchanted the audience from the main stage. The evening came to an end with London Grammar. Although their performance could have been more interesting with some interaction with the crowd the music was fabulous.
Saturdays program had a lot to offer. Unfortunately due to unforeseen bad weather conditions the festival came to a halt midway the evening. Luckily just after 9pm the amazing Goldfrapp managed to get the festival going again with some of her fantastic electrotunes.
After the recent news Moderat was gonna be Apparat and Modeselektor again our sunday was entirely dedicated in experiencing one of their last concerts. Even the perfectionist Frank Ocean, which was one of the biggest headliners at this years festival, could not deliver what Moderat did. An extra-ordinary performance that set the crowd on fire. Definitely the best performance of this years Flow Festival and possibly one the best live performances they ever gave!
